The Progress Process1) Learning your Theory
This for many is the first thing they explore when deciding to learn to drive - others prefer to contact a driving instructor from the start.
We make practising your theory easy with our Progress Theory Practice system which logs your pass progress and development while also allowing your Progress driving instructor to view your test results with you and offer additional support and guidance.
2) Booking your first lesson - see below for a free lesson in 2019
It's important to choose the right driving instructor, as ultimately you learning to drive will be one of those big 'once in a lifetime' experiences which you will carry through your whole life. Read why we believe learning to drive is a skill of a lifetime here.
3) Practice your Hazard Perception
The Hazard Perception element of the theory test can appear daunting to many, that's why Progress has developed a Hazard Perception practice mobile app - available on both Android and iOS. On this app, you'll be able to practice the Hazard Perception in as close to real test conditions all from your mobile device. Did we mention it's completely free? Download it here, or search for it on your App store.
4) Booking your Theory & Hazard Perception Test
Once you believe you've had all the practice and support you need to progress to your actual Theory and Hazard Perception test, keep in mind the good practices for booking your theory test as we describe here and also seek the advice of your Progress driving instructor should you need any further advice and guidance ahead of booking your test.
5) Booking & Passing your Practical Driving Test
Once you and your Progress instructor have worked through our advanced and structured set of driving lessons & supported you through our advanced driving lesson plans, you'll be ready to take the final step to officially being able to hit the open road alone (or with friends of course).
Improved Theory Test Question BankIn case you missed it, towards the end of 2018 we added the whole revised and updated DVSA bank of theory test questions into our theory test practice tool. Now you can rest assured you're practising with the latest up to date theory questions & answers ahead of your actual test.
New Driving InstructorsOur final update of the year is to welcome four new driving instructors into our expanding team. Nat, Keiren, Gavin and Sian.
